A Big To-Do FAQs

DID YOU SEE IT???….The BIG BIRTHDAY CAKE and lots of decorations that were on a green table at the Chili Cook-Off? Lot’s of people stopped by the table to ask questions and to learn more about the party coming up on March 3, 2012.

The top two questions about the cake were:   Is it real??   Can I touch it? Thank you to Madelyn Mauritz-Bosse’ for the fantastic table display!

Just in case you missed it, we want to share with you some of the other questions and answers about A Big To-Do.

What is A Big To-Do?
A Big To-Do is a party celebrating 50 years of learning at School of the Woods.

Who attends A Big To-Do?
Parents, Alumni, Past Parents, Faculty and Friends of School of the Woods who are interested in supporting the School while visiting with old friends and making some new ones. This is an adult event and we are planning for 300 guests.

What happens at A Big-To Do?
A Big To-Do is a fundraising cocktail party with small plate food stations, silent and big board auctions, and lots of socializing. We will visit with friends, bid on some great auction items, and raise money for our school. There will be a few surprises thrown it too.

Who benefits from the funds raised?
We all do. A Big To-Do proceeds are dedicated to the School of the Woods Building Projects. The current project is the Woods High School complex, which includes the all school Gymnasium.

What is the attire?
Dressy casual, which means something you would wear to a friend’s birthday dinner at a restaurant.

Where is A Big To-Do?
The party is at the Tanglewood Terrace on the 10th floor of The Marathon Oil Tower, 5555 San Felipe (between Chimney Rock and Sage Rd). From 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

What is included with my ticket?

  • Individual Ticket – One to Grow On ($100 per person) – Free Parking, Entrance into the Party, Wine, Food, and lots of fun.

  • Individual Ticket – Y2K ($200 per person) – Everything listed above, plus admittance to the Pre-View Champagne Reception starting at 6:00 p.m.

  • Table Purchases – Various Levels – Everything listed above in the Y2K, and 4 tickets and seats at a reserved table for 4.

Will there be dancing?
No dancing, but we are working on some fun entertainment.

When are invitations going out?
Invitations will go in the mail during the first week of December.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or need more information about A Big To-Do!
